TAKE THE KING'S SHILLING!
Text Box: Bayonet

Each Marine carried a 17 inch bayonet with a triangle-shaped blade held in a black leather scabbard attached to a white leather shoulder belt. The bayonet was fixed upon the business end of the firelock to increase its effectiveness in hand to hand combat. The shoulder belt that carries it when not fixed is worn with a brass buckle on the chest.
