Text Box: Welcome to the Virtual Headquarters of the Lobsterback Society!

We are a unique living history organization based throughout Virginia. Our performance-based interactions are designed to bring out the revolutionary spirit in our fellow Americans by portraying the forces which opposed the founding of the United States.

Encountering our Lobsterbacks is like stepping back in time, and has been great educational fun for spectators of all ages. Our work has been received with wide acclaim in many venues and media, including several documentaries and films.

Whatever facet of history you are interested in, we invite you to browse our site and learn about our program, our equipment and our people, all of whom bring this fascinating concept to life!

Members of the Lobsterback Society pose with members of the Historical Maritime Society in front of HMS Victory in Portsmouth, England in April 2009.   The special tour of Victory was led by her curator and caretaker Peter Goodwin (second from the right) after which the group toured USS Theodore Roosevelt, an American nuclear powered aircraft carrier aboard which several LS members are currently serving.
